Q: Will you meet us to show us past wedding albums and wedding photos?

Yes, most definitely. We strongly recommend that you see your potential wedding photographer and not just rely on the pictures displayed on a website - that way you can see whether you get on with us, we can show you real examples of wedding photographs and wedding albums and we can also answer any questions you may have.

Q: Is there additional VAT to pay on top of the wedding photography prices quoted?

No. There are no hidden surprises. The wedding price quoted is the price you pay.

Q: Who owns the copyright to the wedding photos? Can I use them as I wish?

We own the copyright for all the images we take, however, you can use your wedding photos as you wish for your own personal usage. It is only if they are used for commercial purposes that we would require either recognition e.g. ‘wedding photography by Surrey Lane wedding photography' or a usage payment.

Q: Do you have back up equipment on the day for our wedding photography?

Yes, we have top of the range back up Nikon cameras and flash units.

Q: Do you charge travel expenses to get to the wedding venue(s)?

No, we don’t charge for travel to your wedding venue(s) unless the distance is over 60 miles. The charge then is 40 pence mile.

Q: Do you visit the wedding venue(s) beforehand?

Yes, we always try to see the venues in advance, either with our wedding couple or by ourselves. We aim to keep it as close to the wedding date as possible so that we can see the conditions as they will be on the day (what flowers are in bloom, is there any building work in progress etc). If we are unable to visit beforehand then we would get to the wedding venue(s) earlier on the day.

Q: We have seen quite a few bargain wedding photography prices – why are they so much cheaper than yours?

Be very careful if you are presented exceptional bargains. There are lots of people picking up a digital camera, designing a website with passable photos and selling their services cheaply and calling themselves wedding photographers. You'll find out after your wedding when you see the results. There are also fraudsters in the marketplace who will disappear once your deposit has been paid. As professional full time wedding photographers we have covered hundreds of weddings at many different venues in all conditions. We are fully insured and we have top of the range photographic equipment.

Q: We don’t want to spend ages standing around for the group wedding photos – how long do you take?

The time it takes for the group shots depends on the number you have chosen and the conditions on the day. We recommend a maximum of around 12-16 and we would aim to finish them within 20 minutes.

Q: How many final wedding photos can we expect to see?

This will depend on the set up of your day: if your wedding service and reception are at the same venue; the prevailing weather conditions and the number of family and guests present will all have a bearing as will the number of photographers present. We can present from around 250 for a small wedding to around 800 finished wedding images for a large full day wedding with two photographers.

Q: When will our wedding pictures be ready to view?

We allow approximately two working weeks for us to review, edit and Photoshop all your wedding photographs ready to upload into your private portfolio.

Q: Who selects the images for our wedding album, who designs it and do we see a proof before it's printed?

You select the images and we then design your album in house. If you have ordered a luxury album then you get to see and approve a PDF proof before going to print.

Q: What does reportage wedding photography refer to?

It is a natural free flow style of photography whereby we don't interfere with the running of your wedding but just capture it as it happens. We do of course organize some shots such as the group wedding photographs and confetti throwing.

Q: Do you cover other photography as well as wedding photography?

Yes, we offer portrait photography: family photo shoots, pregnancy, baby photography, pet photography and corporate head shots.
Plus event photography: birthdays, christenings, office parties, prom balls and anything else.

Q: Are you fully insured?

Yes, we are fully insured: with both Professional Indemnity insurance and Public Liability insurance.
