I love capturing couples tie the knot at Guildford Register Office. Situated in Artington House on a hill rising from the centre of the town it is a very intimate, relaxed and welcoming Surrey wedding venue which is always a pleasure to return to.
So if you are looking for an experienced Guildford Register Office wedding photographer then look no further.
Guests arrive from the main car park on the left with direct access up the steps via the little terrace garden whilst the Bride arrives at the front entrance which leads straight into the office area.
Retaining many of its original features Artington House has two marriage ceremony rooms, The Guildown and The Artington.
Outside is a terrace and steps which are great for confetti and group shots and as well as a small lawn area there is also a verdant drive for some romantic pictures of the newlyweds.
I usually venture further afield for some more romantic newlywed shots at the either the lovely gardens in Guildford Castle Grounds or in the nearby St Catherine's Chapel ruins.
The staff here are super friendly and helpful and it's a pleasure to cover marriages here.

From fine Victorian family house...
Artington House was built in the early 1860’s as a large family home by Richard Shepard, an insurance broker and is a fine example of classic mid-Victorian architecture.

It was bought off Marion Shepard in 1934 for use as a registration service and over the last 80+ years as seen many thousands of happy couples walk through its doors.
There's always a very welcoming and exciting atmosphere getting married at Guildford Register Office…you feel it as you walk up the steps to its very homely looking entrance

Getting Married at Guildford Register Office - what to expect
There are two pleasant marriage ceremony rooms available to you depending on your preferences and requirements, the Guildown Room and the Artington Room, both of which back onto the main steps and terrace area.
Guildown Room wedding photography
The Guildown Room is the largest of the two marriage ceremony rooms and as you walk in from the front entrance is located at the end of the corridor on the right-hand side.
Long and rectangular in shape, it is finished in a Regency style blue and cream with a large mirror at the back and complete with pendant chandeliers and can seat up to 48 guests.
There is a good amount of natural light that comes in from the bay window to capture the ceremony though in very dark, overcast condtions flash photography may be necessary.
After the ceremony guests follow the happy couple turning left out of the Guildroom door back to the main door leading to the steps and down to the terrace.
Artington Room wedding photography
The Artington Room is situated on your first left as you walk in the main entrance and is the smaller of the two rooms with a seated capacity of up to 15 guests and so is perfect for those more intimate family affairs.
The room is blessed with plenty of natural light so it's possible to capture the intimacy of the marriage ceremony as it unfolds in all light conditions.
Guests are seated on the left-hand side of the room which is also naturally well lit from the bay windows so it's possible to capture the faces and reactions of all the guests throughtout the marriage ceremony.

Having been a professional, full-time wedding photographer for over twelve years, Tina now concentrates her time in the studio, editing all our wedding images, designing wedding albums and ordering prints, an area that she is passionate about and which perfectly suits her previous interior design skills.
Keeping everything in-house in this way also means we don’t keep our couples waiting longer than they should to see the wonderful picture story of their wedding. We also let you know the date when your photos will be ready to view so you don't have to chase us for an update and we pride ourselves on presenting them on time.

When Larry is not working with us he is an accomplished full-time artist, exhibiting his eye-catching work in the UK and around the world.
We can't say anymore though or show his face, he's a bit of a Banksy.
