A very wet July Lythe Hill Hotel wedding day
I had last met Andy and Aimee at the beginning of June when we had a short walk from their house in Farnborough to the lovely Southwood Woodlands for our pre wedding photo shoot.
It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a relaxed fun session with some great pictures captured of the happy couple.
Roll on to their wedding day on 24th July, it's the height of summer, and I arrive at the delightful Lythe Hill Hotel in Haslemere and it's pouring with rain.
The weather forecast said it would remain like this all day, so with no bright expectations weather wise it was on with enjoying this wonderful day.
Whilst Andy and close friends looked after decorating The Garden Room for the wedding ceremony I popped over to the Tennyson Room, a suite that is popular with Brides for getting ready in.
Needless to say Aimee was a little nervous but also very excited and when I left her she was looking more relaxed especially after some champagne with her mum and maid of Honour.
The wedding ceremony was a very relaxed and intimate one and after the marriage everyone spilled into the bar area for some post wedding celebrations.
After having completed the group wedding photo outside under some cover, the next big move was to take them out for a romantic walk...
With umbrellas in hand ( it was persistent rain ) we strode out along the lawn path and over to the cover of the gazebo.
Whilst rain on a wedding day can be disappointing the resulting wedding pictures, if shot outside in it can be magical - Aimee and Andy were up for it from the start and really enjoyed their walk - there were some lovely romantic pictures taken of them, ones they will always look back at and remember with particular affection.
As it is often said, 'Rain on a wedding day is lucky!' We wish Andy and Aimee all the luck for their future together.
