Nutfield Priory is a magnificent Victorian Neo-Gothic mansion house that captivates you on your arrival at the grand front entrance with its dominating six-storey tower.

Sitting high up on Nutfield Ridge, the hotel has wonderful uninterrupted views from the The Terrace over the green and picturesque Surrey Hills.
You are met in The Grand Hall with a stunning stained glass window and throughout the otel with high ceilings, grand and ornate fireplaces, rich wooden panelling and lots of dramatic mullioned stone features and old stone arches.
Marriage ceremonies take place in either The Gibson Room or The Fielden Suite with the drinks reception in The Library and out on the The Terrace. The rest of the reception and celebrations usually takes place in the Fielden Suite.

A Nutfield Priory wedding photographer's perspective
What makes Nutfield Priory such a great wedding venue and one that you love returning to is its wonderful Gothic architecture and it's relaxed, informal feeling
From Quaker Banker and MP
Originally built between 1849 and 1854 it passed onto the Quaker banker Henry Gurney who amongst other things held the annual 'Festival of Ragged School Teachers" there where he invited teachers from East London Schools for a day out here to dine and enjoy the surroundings.
It then passed onto MP Joshua Fielden who had most of it pulled down and rebuilt along with the present 6 storey tower inspired by the Neo-Gothic design of the Palace of Westminster.
...To Army Billet & Luxury Hotel
In 1930 it was turned into a luxurious hotel with a 9 hole golf course but was to became a base for Canadian soldiers during the Second World War. Years later it was purchased by Surrey County Council and became the first Secondary Modern School for severely deaf children in England, eventually closing in 1987.
It reopened back as a hotel in 1988 and following careful renovation, restoration and refurbishment it became the luxury hotel and Spa that it is today. This balcony shot of the Grand Hall shows its stained glass windows and large chandeliers. 
There's something magical about getting married at Nutfield Priory…you feel it as you first look up at its striking and imposing Gothic tower..and then as you pass through the wonderful Grand Hall

Getting Married at Nutfield Priory - what to expect
There are two lovely marriage rooms at Nutfield Priory, the most popular being the old and stately Gibson Room and for larger weddings the more contemporary Fielden Suite.
Gibson Room wedding photography
The Gibson Room has a certain old grandeur which you immediately notice on entering. It can accommodate up to 80 guests and with its rich warm wooden panelling, striking plasterwork ceiling, ornate fireplace and mullioned windows looking out over the South Downs, it certainly looks and feels the part.
Natural light flows in from the terrace window enabling your wedding photographer to capture all the details of the marriage service.
After walking down the aisle as a newly married couple, the happy Bride and Groom are led next door to The Library for a few precious minutes alone together before they are joined by guests for the celebratory drinks reception and canapés in The Library and out on The Terrace.
Fielden Suite wedding & reception photography
The Fielden Suite is a large, modern and contemporary room which has a capacity of up to 100 guests for both the marriage ceremony and for the wedding breakfast.
For the marriage ceremony there is natural light down one whole side and at one end with the view out to the Main Terrace enabling the wedding photographer to fully capture the service.
As well as having access to the Main Terrace with the wonderful views over the South Downs it also has its own, private terrace area complete with tables and chairs, great for relaxing over a drink during and after the dinner reception.
The room is turned around after dinner for the first dance and the rest of the night time celebrations.

Richard
I love being a documentary wedding photographer, for me it's an all consuming affair and one that is always rewarding. After 15 years and over 500 weddings I still find every one a unique and exciting event. To me it’s not just a job, it is my passion.

Having been a professional, full-time wedding photographer for over twelve years, Tina now concentrates her time in the studio, editing all our wedding images, designing wedding albums and ordering prints, an area that she is passionate about and which perfectly suits her previous interior design skills.
Keeping everything in-house in this way also means we don’t keep our couples waiting longer than they should to see the wonderful picture story of their wedding. We also let you know the date when your photos will be ready to view so you don't have to chase us for an update and we pride ourselves on presenting them on time.

As well as helping us design and constantly improve our website he keeps our systems ticking over nice and smoothly so that everything works tickety-boo.
When Larry is not working with us he is an accomplished full-time artist, exhibiting his eye-catching work in the UK and around the world.
We can't say anymore though or show his face, he's a bit of a Banksy.
