Pembroke Lodge is a stunning wedding venue situated in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in the heart of Richmond Park.

As well as a great place to spot deer, squirrels and parakeets, it also has stunning views over the Thames Valley.
As a preferred and recommended Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer, I am able to photograph many lovely weddings here...
In all seasons, so I know the best vantage points for beautiful, romantic and fun pictures, whatever the weather is on your big day.
Whether it's in amongst the daffodils in spring, or in the colourful and beautifully scented picturesque gardens in summer...
Or in the ever changing colours of autumn with all its shades of golden yellow and orange ...to the dark and cold depths of winter...
There's always a wonderful story to be told.
Pembroke Lodge - A fascinating history
Pembroke Lodge started life back in the 1750s as The Lodge, a single room cottage inhabited by a mole catcher.
Enlarged and renamed Hill Lodge in 1787 it was granted to the Duchess of Pembroke who added a Georgian wing to it.
In 1847 it was passed onto the then Prime Minister Lord John Russell who used it to conduct business affairs.
He was also know to entertain such well-known writers as Dickens, Thackeray, Tennyson, and Longfellow.
It later became the home of Bertrand Russell, the famous philosopher and mathematician who grew up there between 1876 and 1894.
During the 2nd World War it became a Regimental HQ and then a government-run tea room.
The Hearsum family took over the lease of Pembroke Lodge in 1997 and carried out comprehensive restoration work.
They also began collecting thousands of fascinating artifacts connected with Pembroke Lodge and Richmond Park.
The final phase of the restoration work involves the proposed setting up of a visitor information centre to house all these finds.
Today, in addition to its ever popular tea-rooms, it's a well established and highly regarded Surrey wedding venue.
Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer opportunities
There are two wedding rooms, The Belvedere and The Russell Suite and both have beautiful outside ceremony options.
The Belvedere, situated at the back right-hand side of Pembroke Lodge seats up to 140 guests for the marriage ceremony.
It is blessed with an abundance of natural light from the terrace window side.
After the marriage ceremony there's the traditional walk down the aisle accompanied by confetti or bubbles...
And then the newlywed couple escape directly onto the lovely terrace for celebratory drinks and canapés.
The large terrace area is a great space for guests to relax and soak up the atmosphere whilst enjoying the wonderful views.
It also provides a busy wedding photographer with plenty of opportunities for some candid and informal reportage photography.
If it's not great for being on the terrace, guests can use The Soane Room whilst The Belvedere is turned around for the wedding breakfast.
After the wedding speeches guests can return outside or to The Soane Room whilst the room is turned around for the evening celebrations.
The Russell Suite, situated up on the first floor is perfect for those more intimate weddings and has a capacity of up to 70 guests.
It is also blessed with plenty of natural light from two sides ensuring wonderful coverage during the marriage ceremony.
During room turnaround, guests have access to the picturesque gardens at the front and the special enclosed drinks area around the side.
If it's cold or wet there is exclusive access to the adjoining Bertrand Russell Rooms and bar, a lovely intimate space with wonderful views.
With the wedding breakfast over, guests move to the Bertrand Russell Rooms for the evening celebrations dancing in The Phantom Room.
Having captured weddings here in all seasons we know the best vantage points for stunning, natural wedding pictures.
Whether that's between the distinctive white-pillared main entrance or under the trees in amongst the daffodils and tulips in spring...
Or walking through the beautifully scented blooms in the picturesque gardens at the front during summer...
Or at any time of the year down on the terrace with its wonderful views over Surrey and to the City of London.
We love working at this delightful venue, with its welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and friendly, professional and helpful staff...
And after the many weddings we have captured here, I can assure you, you'll love it too!
